Why have converted Muslims abandoned & discarded their 'own ancient (non Muslim) ancestors'?

Dude my ancestors were Hindus. I'm a Muslim Rajput, descendent of Prithviraj Chauhan, and I admire all they did. I love my ancestral history. In fact I'm proud to call myself a Rajput.
