Question about Iredell County Traffic Court?

I got a speeding ticket going 75 in a 60 through Iredell County, Statesville NC. I was transporting a adolescent client from court in a company van whom the client had threatened to run. I was focusing on the client and unaware of any speeding taking place. As a matter of fact, the speed limit was 70 before getting to that point on I-40 and afterwards it went back to 70. I was told it was a possible speed trap. I have never had a traffic violation before. The state trooper who pulled me over didn't want to hear anything. He simply asked was it an medical emergency. It was not. I have called to speak to the DA and they won't allow me to. I'm thinking about doing Prayer of Justice and going without an attorney. I was advised by a friend to hire an attorney. What is best? Is anyone familiar with Iredell County, Statesville NC traffic court or DA?
